Unblock phone or device from synchronizing using Exchange ActiveSync
Exchange 2010 provides policies that allow Exchange Administrators to control which mobile devices are allowed to connect and sync with the Exchange servers using ActiveSync in an organization. When a new device attempts to connect to the Exchange environment, they may receive an email similar to the one below. This post describes how to unblock phone or device from synchronizing using Exchange ActiveSync.
You receive an email like the one below after you attempt to synchronize your phone or other mobile device to your Exchange environment using ActiveSync.
Your mobile phone is temporarily blocked from synchronizing using Exchange ActiveSync until your administrator grants it access.
When this happens, an Exchange administrator must allow the quarantined device using the Exchange Control Panel (ECP). Follow the steps below to do this.
1. Navigate to the ECP using the following link:
https://webmail.mycompany.com/ecp/emailaddress (i.e. https://webmail.mycompany.com/ecp/johnsmith@mycompany.com
Another option is to just log onto webmail normally:
- Log on to webmail (i.e. https://webmail.mycompany.com)
-
Select Options, then select See All Options
-
Select drop-down to Manage My Organization
2. From the Exchange Control Panel, select Phone & Voice and then select Allow
What if I accidentally blocked a phone that I need to allow? How do I allow it.
Heidi, Interesting question. Sorry for the delay, I haven’t had time to research it. I hope you were able to solve your issue. Let me know if you still need assistance.
Hi George, my company will not allow me to synch with Exchange, how do I stop the email from Microsoft?
Larry, I apologize for the late response. I’m not sure you can stop the email if you attempt to sync your device via ActiveSync.
